Developmental Delay

No two siblings in the family can be the same and may have different rates of reaching a milestone. Similarly, while minor temporary delays are normal, recurring delays can be alarming. This may include activities like delay in language, social and motor skills, and even basic movements like trouble to hold a toy. We strongly recommend every parent to enroll their child in this course if he/she has the following symptoms:

  • Inability to sit without support (about 9 month old child)
  • Stiff arms and legs and inability to bear weight on legs (about 1 year old child)
  • Delay in speech and expression, includes gestures and speaking/writing

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

While several studies say that ASD can majorly be caused due to a combination of biological and neurological disorders, the exact reason seems to be unknown. Such factors may further cause an array of disorders such as:

  • Sensory Perceptual Issues: Children with such issues may have altered hearing, vision, touch, and smell functionalities. Many children, in such a case, may hate a gentle touch, whereas others may dislike a deep pressure touch. While one or more of their senses may be working fine, they may develop a distorted perception of the environment.
  • Motor Executive Issues: Children with such issues find it difficult to plan, memorize and initiate instructions. In addition to this, they may also find physical movements and responses to a command a lot of hassle. Instances of such issues can be identified like difficulty in tying shoelaces, picking up a thing, buttoning clothes, etc.
  • Social and Behavioral problems: When a child is unable to meet the expectations of people around him, he/she gets deprived of the much-needed support and encouragement, which in turn results in various behavior problems. In such cases, children do not prefer to be social and often get short- tempered.
  • Communication problems: This involves difficulty in hearing as well as understanding. When a child’s hearing process is normal, yet is often unable to understand what the other person is speaking or the child repeats what he/she is hearing, such a situation is possibly the effect of ASD. While many children with ASD face unique difficulties, many children come with unparalleled skills. A lot of such children are found to have extraordinary skills under numerous divisions, like:
    • Excellent memory
    • Superior mechanical skills
    • Great musical skills
    • Exceptional language skills
    • Magnificent math skills
    • Skills for wonderful art and attention to details
